Ankit Metal & Power, a branch of the SKP Group, is set to install a new steel, pellet and power plant in West Bengal’s Bankura district NE India.

The new plant, which is to be commissioned this year, is part of the company’s expansion strategy. Over the next two years Ankit Metal is looking to increase its steel, alloy, pellets and power capacities through both greenfield and brownfield projects, and the company is also looking to buy out mines and alloy units.

The company hopes that after its two year expansion plan it will be capable of an annual capacity of 400kt of steel, 400kt of alloy, a pellet capacity of 2Mt, and captive power generation of 150MW.
