Thomas Quinet, former chief financial officer of PSI Metals, is now managing director of the company, having taken over from Detlef Schmitz who will continue in a business development role.

Quinet studied civil engineering and entered the metals business in 2001. He started his career at PSI Metals as a sales executive and was soon promoted to sales director and then member of the board in 2009.

In 2013, after completing an executive MBA, he was appointed financial director.

Sven Busch is now responsible for all customer needs covered by PSI's four divisions, which are directly responsible for sales and delivery in dedicated markets.

According to PSI Metals, Detlef Schmitz has led the company from the very beginning and transformed it, together with his co-managing director Sven Busch, from a German market leader to a global player in production management software for metals. Schmitz intends to continue to support the company with his expertise.

"Adapting the new organisation will secure continuity on the path towards a product-driven business model with the clear goal to combine top application and business consultants with best-in-class products in the metals industries while ensuring and enhancing market leadership for production management solutions in the metals industry," said PSI metals in a statement released yesterday.
