Russian steelmaker MMK’s partnership with TMK, a global manufacturer and supplier of steel pipes, has proved fruitful.
Throughout 2015 MMK shipped 744kt of steel to TMK and both are now in discussion about new products, including those to be used within the implementation of major gas pipeline and infrastructure projects, such as Nord Stream 2.
MMK is a leading supplier of steel to the Russian pipe industry. The company has expanded its hot-rolled steel production capabilities following the commissioning of 1.5Mt capacity Mill 5000 in 2009. Last year the company shipped over 2.4Mt of metal to pipemakers.
TMK is a key consumer of MMK products. Both companies have now signed an agreement on the price of rolled steel valid to 2018.
