Singapore-based Meranti Green Steel has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with global mining company Anglo American, for the supply of high-grade iron ore pellets and iron ore lumps.
Meranti Green Steel is currently working on a new green steel plant in Thailand which includes a DRI, EAF, Hot Strip Mill, and the use of renewable energy and green hydrogen. The supply of essential high-grade iron ore pellet and iron ore lump feed will serve as the primary raw materials for Meranti's Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) operations, with the DRI subsequently being used in Meranti's steel-making processes.
