Keetac, United States Steel Corporation’s mining arm, is the proud recipient of a Sentinels of Safety Award from the US-based National Mining Association (NMA).
The award was presented at an official dinner in Washington DC last month and is designed to recognise and honour the USA’s safest mining operations.
Keetac was awarded in the large open pit category for its 2012 safety record, which included an OSHA recordable injury rate of 0.23.
