Jindal Steel and Power Ltd plans to invest INR 240bn ($3.9bn) by the end of FY 2014-15 to complete its on-going expansion.
The Company will commission a new steel plant at Angul in Odisha state, India and a 2400MW power plant in Chhattisgarh state.
The company is also building a steel plant in Oman.
Future projects include further expansion of steelmaking at Angul and a 1320MW power plant at Godda, Jharkhand state.
After completion of the current phase of expansion the company will have a steel production capacity of 7.5Mt/y from its present 3.5Mt/y and power generating capacity will double from 2500MW to 5000MW.
