Formosa Group, a large Taiwanese conglomerate, has ordered a new Danieli Centro Maskin grinding plant for its Fujian Fuxin stainless steel plant in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, China.
The machine will be used to condition 300 and 400 series stainless steel slabs at temperatures of up to 800 deg C and consists of two 315kW main grinders and a 160kW slab edge grinder.
The Danieli Centro Maskin HiGrind system is employed to control consistency of the material removal depth and to control all processing and safety functions under tough operational conditions.
An E-Cube step-less, variable grinding angle system will also be installed, claims Danieli, with a view to ensuring full flexibility in optimising the grinding conditioning process. It will also guarantee ‘the best possible slab surface roughness’, which is a critical aspect of stainless steel conditioning, according to the Italian processing technology specialist.
