Aktobe Rail and Section Works LLP, Kazakhstan, is to have a rail and section mill of annual capacity 430kt provided by Siemens Metals Technologies.
The new rolling mill will be located in the town of Aktobe under the auspices of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, the national railway company, and will be the first rail manufacturing plant in Kazakhstan. Production is scheduled to start in the second half of 2014.
To produce rails with a high contact fatigue and wearing resistance, the rolling mill will be equipped with the Injector Dual-phase Rail Hardening (Idrha+) system.
The value of the order lies in the upper double-digit million euro range.
