Belgium group CMI Industry has supplied Rivagroup with Europe’s second largest capacity galvanizing line.
The line, dedicated to automotive exposed quality steel benefits from vertical furnace technology developed by CMI.
The line has 510kt/y capacity, and can process strip in the thickness range 0.4 to 2.5mm with a maximum width of 2000mm.
It was installed at Italian company Rivagroup’s Novi Ligure plant. The line has CMI-made equipment including its strip cleaning section, annealing furnace, side trimmer, exit rotating shear and all mechanical aspects.
The largest galvanising line know to Steel Times International is that at Tata Steel Europe IJmuiden, The Netherlands which has a capacity of 550kt/y, can process strip in the thickness range 0.6 - 2.5mm and up to 2050mm wide. This line was supplied by Siemens VAI MT.
