China’s crude steel output increased 7.4% year on year to 389.87Mt in the first half of 2013, with the growth rate up 5.6% from a year earlier.

The output of finished steel products grew 10.2% to 516.96Mt, the National Bureau of Statistics said. The prices of the steel products kept falling during the half year but improved an average 4% in July.
