Capital Coated Steel, a leading processor of pre-finished steel has invested £3.5 million in a former Tata Steel plant covering seven acres of the Blackvein Industrial Estate at Cross Keys, South Wales.
All of Capital Coated Steel’s group companies – Macward Steel Slitting Services, Brunel Steel Services and Odoni-Elwell – will be located at the new headquarters where a new slitting machine imported from the USA will ‘significantly increase capacity’ and create 14 new jobs.
According to CCS’s managing director Gary Hunt, the new premises will enable the company to meet growing global demand. He said that a great deal of the infrastructure and fittings needed were already in place, making the investment attractive commercially.
By bringing CCS’s group companies under roof the company will bring 110 jobs to the new site in addition to the 14 new jobs created. Turnover is expected to grow to over £40 million in 2015.
