Ansteel, a leading Chinese steelmaker, has opened a vanadium steel cold rolling project in Sichuan that is being controlled by Pangang Group, it's wholly-owned subsidiary.
The plant is expected to produce 1.7Mt of cold rolled plate, 700kt of hot rolled pickling plate and 400kt of chill cold plate and represents a CMY4 billion investment.
Ansteel is also investing CMY460 million on environmental protection at the plant, the plan being to recycle waste acid, water and gas, according to Pangang Group.
