Yuri Larin has been appointed general director of Stoilensky, a leading producer of iron ore. Sergei Napolskikh has been made deputy general director (production and technology).

Stoilensky is part of the Russian NLMK Group and is claimed to be one of the most efficient mining companies in Russia. It is ranked third in terms of iron ore production with over a 15% share of the country’s total production.

In 2013, the company produced 14Mt of iron ore concentrate and 1.5Mt of sinter ore. It has approximately 5 billion tonnes of iron ore reserves.

Mr Larin is NLMK’s group vice president (technology development and operational efficiency ) and is also a member of the NLMK board.

Mr Napolskikh was previously managing director of Kachkanarsky GOK, Russia’s biggest ferro-vanadic ore producer, and prior to that (from 2006 to 2010) was chief engineer and managing director of Vysokogorsk Mining and Beneficiation Plant.
